Sheila Barbarino, MD
Sheila Barbarino, MD, FAAO, FAACS, F.A.C.S., is a board certified surgeon who is fellowship-trained in both cosmetic oculoplastics and aesthetic full-face and full body surgery. Dr. Barbarino is an active fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Barbarino is also a Trustee on the Cosmetic Surgery Foundation Board of Directors.
Dr. Barbarino comes to the Aesthetic Institute at Dell Laser Consultants in Austin, Texas with years of experience in surgeries of the eyelids, face, and body that range from youthful rejuvenation to reconstructive plastic surgery. She understands that sometimes the most upsetting part of an appearance-altering event, such as a physical trauma, can be the way it changes the way we present to the world, which often informs how we think and feel about ourselves. Consequently, Dr. Barbarino takes great care to approach reconstructive surgeries from a cosmetic perspective, to achieve the best result for the patient.
As a female surgeon, she sees her patients from a woman’s perspective. Dr. Barbarino understands how particular we are about perceived imperfections–whether we think we have cellulite, jowls, turkey necks or excess skin on our eyelids. She empathizes with her patients’ desire for a well-rested, youthful, and fit appearance, and knows that this cannot always be accomplished through time spent at the gym or through a good, healthful lifestyle.
When dealing with eye problems such as hollowness or dark circles under the eyes, eyelid drooping and natural aging, or skin damage and skin cancer, Dr. Barbarino applies her cosmetic plastic surgical skills to restore the natural, refreshed appearance and health to the eye. She also uses her expertise to rejuvenate and reshape the eyelids, face, and body for purely aesthetic purposes.
Dr. Barbarino is also well-versed in procedures and products aimed at improving the appearance of the skin for people of all skin types and shades. Her extensive expertise includes the artful use of non-surgical modalities such as Botox®, Sculptra®, Juvederm®, Radiesse®, and Restylane®, which help patients achieve pleasing, natural-looking facial rejuvenation.
Her goal as a woman and as a surgeon is to help each patient become more comfortable and confident with their body, and in particular, with their face.
She helps her patients realize their aesthetic potential through her creative use of the latest innovations in cosmetic medicine.
Patients want to look the best they can for their age—not artificial and fake.
“If medicine has given years to life, it is aesthetic surgery that has given life to years”
