Dr. Gomez attended Nova Southeastern College of Optometry where she graduated with honors and received letters of clinical excellence. Following graduation, Dr. Gomez was selected for a post-doctoral residency at the #1 ranked eye hospital in the country, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami, where she received medical and peri-operative training in all ocular disease sub-specialties.
Dr. Gomez specializes in the evaluation and management of vision correction surgery, cataract surgery, dry eye disease, ocular surface disease and glaucoma utilizing the most advanced diagnostic testing and effective treatments available.
Dr. Gomez has been repeatedly published in optometry journals, such as optometry’s most read journal, Review of Optometry. Currently Dr. Gomez has been working in cutting edge advanced dry eye treatment that included new research areas of facial cosmetics and aesthetics. This has led to her having a unique knowledge of facial care, facial skin care products and ocular cosmetics.
In October, 2017 Dr. Gomez became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a distinction given to only 10% of optometrist who have achieved a higher standard of professional competence and met rigorous qualifications for membership. She is also the vice president of the Central Texas Optometry Society and a member of the Texas Optometry Association and American Optometric Association. She has a passion for volunteer work and travels often to Ecuador to provide eye-care for the underserved.
