Dr. Dell featured in KVUE News Special on Cataract TreatmentWednesday, July 1st, 2015, 6:40 pm
Millions of Americans suffer from vision impairment due to cataracts, which can leave them unable to participate in their favorite activities. KVUE News, an Austin-based subsidiary of ABC News, recently reported on one woman’s experience undergoing an innovative cataract surgery, which ultimately helped her return to her beloved hobbies and improve her overall quality of life. Dr. Steven J. Dell, our experienced ophthalmologist, was featured as an expert on this special segment, and he provided insight on how cataracts disrupt eyesight and clarified the benefits of using Tecnis Multifocal Low-Add lenses. He was quoted as saying, “Those lenses can essentially put the prescription that you need inside of [your] eye.”
In addition to enhancing eyesight at nearly every distance, Dr. Dell explained to the television station that the procedure to implant the lenses typically takes about 10 minutes. He added that many insurance policies would cover a significant portion of the cost, making the operation financially feasible for many people. He also noted that the results would be gradual, but with patience the final outcome can mean near perfect eyesight without the need for corrective eyewear, as had been the case in the past.
Dr. Dell is committed to providing a helpful resource on the most advanced eye care options available. He was proud to participate in this opportunity with KVUE News, and he hopes patients suffering from cataracts can feel empowered by the knowledge to discuss treatment with an experienced board-certified ophthalmologist.
