Dell has been elected one of the Top Fifty Opinion Leaders in the Field of Cataract and Refractive Surgery by the worldwide physician readership of the medical journal "Cataract and Refractive Surgery Today". This is the second year in a row that Dr. Dell has won the award, which honors a prestigious group of world leaders in the field. Dr. Dell is one of the youngest physicians to receive this award, which recognizes excellence in innovative surgical techniques, surgical research and technology, clinical teaching, and a positive impact of the careers of the voting physicians. 

Dell Laser Consultants announces Dr. Steven Dell named a “Super Doctor” by Texas Monthly Magazine for the 3rd straight year.

Dell Laser Consultants is proud to announce that our Medical Director Dr. Steven J. Dell has been named a “Super Doctor” by Texas Monthly Magazine for the third year in a row. This honor is the result of a 2007 poll of over 37,000 Texas doctors. The poll asked the respondents to select the doctor to whom they would send a loved one or one of their patients. Winners were announced in 29 categories. The poll was conducted by Key Professional Media, and will be announced in the December 2007 issue of Texas Monthly Magazine.

“Giving Eyes” Program Offering Free Care to the Needy a Big Success

This holiday season, Dr. Steven Dell and his staff at Dell Laser Consultants inaugurate “Giving Eyes”, a holiday charitable event developed with the support of Bausch & Lomb.

Dr. Dell and his staff will perform evaluations and free LASIK procedures on deserving, less fortunate individuals chosen as the result of a community write-in campaign.

“Many of the candidates nominated by the community were highly deserving of charitable services. They ranged from those whose lives were severely disrupted by war and disease to victims of domestic violence. We hope to continue this program in the future, and we want to thank the community for the time everyone took to nominate the truly needy” said Dr. Dell.

At this time, the program is closed to further nominations.

Dell Laser Consultants Launches Two New FDA Clinical Trials for LASIK

Dell Laser Consultants is pleased to announce that it has initiated several FDA clinical trials testing investigational excimer lasers for LASIK, as well as pharmaceuticals. Very few sites in the US are selected to perform these studies which will be closely watched by surgeons around the world. Participation in the clinical trials is strictly voluntary, and a limited number of patients can be treated under the FDA protocols. All participants in the trials will be notified that they are participating in a formal FDA clinical trial, and will be offered treatment with another FDA approved laser if they prefer. As compensation for participation in one of these FDA trials, patients will have the majority of their surgical fee waived.
